You need to bargain with the taxi driver for the cost and is advisable to agree for the fare before getting into the taxi and there are also meter taxis. Rural  taxis are found at the taxi stands, bus stands ,in front of big hotels ,airport or other locations accessible locations. The charges are more after 8 pm .

Taxis can be booked by phone also or hired from their locations .Sharing the taxi with a co passenger are also prevalent in Cyprus. Cypriots drive on the left side of the road, in keeping with British and British Commonwealth practice.

Services run every half-hour or so from 6 or 7 in the morning, but terminate at 5 or 6 PM on the dot.

For one day rentals, a surcharge of CYP 10.00 is applied on the 3-6 days price break. For two days rentals, a surcharge of CYP 5.00 per day is applied on the 3-6 days price break.

 Many a times booking in advance for car rentals can be economical , depending upon the rental agencies you can bargain for a car rental before you start the trip.
